A Message from the Scientific and Executive Committee of the 36th Pediatric Diseases Congress

The passage of time has once again granted the Department of Pediatrics at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, along with the Children’s Medical Center—the national academic reference center for pediatric care—the great honor of hosting the 36th Annual Congress on Pediatric Diseases. This four-day scientific event will be held from October 4 to October 7, 2024, at the Noor Al-Reza International Conference Center (Soroush Hall), with the goal of serving the pediatric medical community of Iran.

The ongoing commitment to enhancing the scientific quality of this congress, guided by the insights and feedback from esteemed professors, pediatric specialists, and trainees, remains a cornerstone of our approach.

This year’s program includes 21 two-hour Teaching Courses, carefully designed to address common and critical issues in pediatric practice. These sessions, led by distinguished faculty, aim to provide actionable insights for daily clinical work.

Additionally, 19 expert-led panels, ranging from 60 to 120 minutes, will focus on advanced diagnostics, treatment innovations, and interdisciplinary perspectives involving pediatric surgery, radiology, and laboratory sciences.

Following the strong positive feedback from participants in the Young Investigators Panel last year, the 2024 congress will feature two dedicated panels for medical students and early-career researchers. These sessions aim to foster academic growth and inspire participation in pediatric research.

A call for abstract submissions was issued earlier this year, and as a result, 30 top abstracts have been selected for oral presentation. The remaining accepted abstracts will be showcased in the poster sessions, creating rich opportunities for academic exchange.

Daily keynote lectures, held from 8:00 to 8:30 AM in the main hall, will explore the role of artificial intelligence in medical education, research, and clinical care—highlighting one of the most exciting intersections between technology and pediatric healthcare.

The congress will run simultaneously across three conference halls, with a fourth hall activated on selected days to accommodate workshops—including one focused on child development.

More than 300 faculty members from across Iran—including pediatric subspecialists and basic science experts—will contribute to this national event, sharing knowledge, insights, and collaborative opportunities.

All accepted materials and abstracts will be compiled into a digital proceedings book, made available to all registered participants at the conclusion of the congress.

We sincerely hope that this year’s adjusted congress date—chosen to avoid overlap with other educational and research programs—will enable broader participation. We invite professors, healthcare professionals, and pediatric trainees to take full advantage of the largest pediatric congress in Iran. The gathering offers not only scientific enrichment and skill development but also the chance to reconnect in a friendly, collegial atmosphere, united by the shared goal of improving children’s health and nurturing the next generation.

The Scientific and Executive Committee warmly welcomes your participation and looks forward to an inspiring and impactful event.
